Handcrafted Nesting Box

From Ray Brown ~ This box is made from cypress wood which is very resistant to damage from moisture and insects, so it doesn't need any paint to preserve it.

The hardware cloth mesh at the bottom is to keep the nest up off the floor so any mites the birds might have can fall through.

After the migratories have left to spend their winter in Florida, it's a good idea to open the hatch and throw away any old nesting material, egg shells, feathers, etc, that are inside.
